Don Manzullo was endorsed by the Illinois Tea Party this week.

In response, Adam Kinzinger’s spokesperson had the following to say:

Congressman Kinzinger will continue gathering support from people who oppose bailouts, earmarks and Obama spending projects. We need a break from the past rather than Congressman Manzullo and groups who supports those failed policies,” she said in a statement.

Every time his camp says this it just provides us another opportunity to highlight the Obama spending projects he has supported. SEE: ARRA, stimulus and infrastructure.

Our favorite from that report is the multi-millionaire dollar infrastructure project in Will County funded with federal and state money. Note the significant funding coming from Obama backer Governor Pat Quinn’s capital bill.

Plus, if you really liked the Clint Eastwood Superbowl ad referencing the bailout of the auto industry…you probably shouldn’t voted for Adam Kinzinger (we’re talking about you, Belvidere, Illinois).

Adam Kinzinger DOES think it’s “great news” that Chrysler is creating 1,800 jobs in Belvidere.

However, Kinzinger would not have supported the government loans and restructuring to the auto industry that are reported to have saved over 1.1 million jobs – oh, and helped create those 1,800 in Belvidere.

Kinzinger said, “I would not have voted for it in congress. Look, I think that’s great news. It’s huge for Boone County obviously and it’s something that we obviously like to see. That doesn’t necessarily mean that a wholesale bailout is the right way to go. What you see is that the free market works and when the free market is allowed to be competitive it’s successful.”

Call it a bailout. Call it a loan. We don’t care.

Chrysler’s creating 1,800 jobs in Belvidere, Illinois and Kinzinger being a negative nancy.

AND his statement seems to disavow the actual free market success that Chrysler is experiencing following their receiving a loan (does it matter if it’s a private or government loan?) – a loan approved by the Democratic process.

Adam Kinzinger likes democracy, right?

Originally, a carpetbagger was a Northerner who moved to the South post-Civil War, and in the Southerners eyes was meddling in Southern business.

There’s a more modern definition per Wikipedia:

the term is sometimes used derisively to refer to a politician who runs for public office in an area where he or she does not have deep community ties, or has lived only for a short time.

Okay. Let’s follow Adam Kinzinger’s timeline:

1) Adam Kinzinger elected to the McLean County Board in 2003.
2) Adam Kinzinger moves to Manteno in Kankakee County to run for Congress.
3) Adam Kinzinger moves to Grundy County to run for Congress.

Adam might claim he moved because he was ‘mapped out’ – but maybe someone should ask him why he didn’t run in the 2nd Congressional District where his current flop house apartment is?

Wikipedia also defines carpetbaggers as opportunists.

You be the judge.
