It appears that Adam Kinzinger is going to run against Don Manzullo – the tenured Congressman from Rockford, Illinois.

Well, I think this settles an internal bet we’ve been having: Adam Kinzinger doesn’t represent any one part of Illinois – he represents Washington, D.C.

We can explain.

Adam Kinzinger was on the McLean County Board until 2003. Then he went full time in the military. After that, he at some point rented an apartment in Manteno, located in Kankakee County – Adam Kinzinger’s birthplace.

Now today, Adam Kinzinger is announcing he’s going to run in the 16th District which covers LaSalle County (current 11th District) up to Rockford (still in the 16th).

Yes, Kinzinger’s spokesperson Brook Hougeson is couching the announcement saying he may run in the 11th District under the proposed Republican Map – but don’t believe the hype. We’d bet the house against that one.

Full circle back to our point: Adam, are you going to move again?

We’re not trying to be petty, but if we drew a treasure map we’d see dotted lines showing Adam moving from Bloomington, to Manteno, to maybe Rockford or LaSalle (perhaps?) – all just to be in Washington, D.C. ?
